Just catching up on the blog. I do a lot of reading and good-brain-vibe support to other FRBers when I'm nursing the baby, but finding time to type is difficult. I'm still trying to figure out how to balance my time with this new baby.
My running is coming along. My achilles is always nagging. I don't want to completely kill it but I can't figure out how to fix it and running feels like a life necessity right now so stopping isn't an option. And 9 months of resting didn't seem to make healing happen anyway. So I just send happy thoughts down my achilles' way and hope that it doesn't all end in daily biking (although I suppose there could be worse fates).
I'm getting ready to go over 30 miles per week here soon and adding a speed day or two. I don't think I felt back to normal running-wise until 6 months post-baby last time so I think continuing to slowly accelerate my training will be fine. Sept. 30 I'll do a sprint triathalon (my first since I was 8 or so) and then Oct. 15 will be a 30k. This will be my first non-Utah which means non-aided distance course ever. I'm kinda excited for that.
Need to get schedule figured out at beginning of week so I know when the kids can be watched and for how long. I'd like to increase mid-week mileage and speed work
Ended up having four miles of progression run from 8:19 to 7:09 on the last mile. The other two miles were around 7:25. Felt so good to run with some speed.
4x800 - 3:19 - 3:24, I'm happy with this for the amount of time I've been running again. My body is as tight as a drum though, especially in my hips. Somehow I need to find time for better stretching and muscle strengthening. Of course after last week I feel blessed just to get time to run.
